Yes, and it is free. The consultation runs 30 minutes. We talk through your skin goals — whether that is fading sunspots, smoothing out texture or fighting dryness — and assess the health of your skin before anything is recommended. Nothing gets booked until you have a plan you are happy with.

It depends on the treatment. A Hydro Facial is built as a single relaxing session that cleans out the pores, lifts away dull skin and deeply hydrates, and you can see the glow and the clean pores in the mirror straight after. Contouring treatments such as Laser Lipo Cavitation and Double Chin Removal work to a custom plan instead: we look at your shape, discuss your goals, and tell you exactly how many sessions you need before you start.

For active acne, Blue Light Therapy. It is non-invasive and kills the P. acnes bacteria that causes the swelling, redness and inflammation at the source, rather than simply drying the skin out. For pigmentation, rough texture and dryness, the AFA Chemical Peel, which adds moisture back into the skin while it exfoliates. For acne scars, wrinkles, large pores and loss of firmness, Microneedling, also called Collagen Induction Therapy. For fine lines and sagging, Red Light Therapy, which re-energizes the skin cells so they produce new collagen and elastin.

Microneedling is the one people ask about. The needles are extremely thin, and we apply a high-quality topical numbing cream and let it sit until the area is properly numb, which makes the treatment very comfortable. A Hydro Facial has no downtime at all — you will not walk out with a red or flaky face. Blue Light and Red Light Therapy are non-invasive and comfortable, and for body treatments you simply lie down while the technician works.

Some treatments are designed to go together: after Microneedling we often recommend an LED Light Treatment to boost healing and collagen production. Others need sequencing. If you have large active pimples, open sores or cystic acne we will not dermaplane — we calm the breakout first with Blue Therapy Light, then dermaplane once the skin has healed.

After exfoliating treatments such as the AFA Chemical Peel and the Dermaplaning Facial we always finish with a high-quality SPF moisturizer to protect fresh, delicate skin from the sun, and we will tell you how long to keep that up. Calgary’s dry, high-altitude air and the chinook temperature swings pull moisture out of the skin, so most plans also include keeping it hydrated between visits.
